Four talented alien musicians are kidnapped by a music producer who disguises them as humans and reprograms them so that they forget their true personalities and play soulless corporate pop music under the name The Crescendolls. At some point, a football match is shown on the monitor; Japanese and French teams are playing. The two co-authors, Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto, identify as French and Japanese, respectively. This film is magical, the soundtrack is wonderful, it feels like you’re being lifted up into the air, that’s right. ;how «aerodynamic» are you. The story may seem quite simple, but in essence it is «digital love»; a story in which the hero will have to become «harder, better, faster, stronger» to save the woman of his dreams and her musical group («Crescendolls») from an evil producer. Leiji Matsumoto’s animation is simply beautiful; for example, "night vision" What you will see from a city on Earth (probably inspired by Tokyo) is breathtaking. But the real «superheroes» of this film are Daft Punk. These guys understood that good music can create «secular life», they know how to touch us, how to reveal «something about us». Let them take you on this cosmic journey, be it a «traveler»; shuttle or not, you will find it "veridis quo". This is a «short circuit». (only 68 min, duration of the album «Discovery»), but at the end, when you find yourself «face to face» with yourself, you can only feel that you want something more, as if it was never «too long».
