A local activist and an aspiring young mayor clash over the best way forward for their impoverished suburb. The original French title of the project was to be “Les Indésirables”; before it was changed.. In this second film from the director of LES MISERABLES, made in 2019, we still have Alexis Manenti and Steve Chincheu, but not in the same roles. From a cop, Manenti becomes mayor, and Chincheu from a local king also becomes a big member of the city council… This is not a social crime drama, just a social drama, just remove the criminal element. It is simply an indictment of real facts, a real tragedy. Not everyone will agree with the message of this film. The government’s strategy for migrants is at the heart of this story. If you want to escape your problems, if you want to dream, to hope for the future, this film is not for you. But if you are brave enough to open your eyes to the true and ugly face of the modern world, of modern society, this film is the best option for you. Very painful ending, touching, disturbing. Unforgettable.
